When the Heart Distorts the View: Why What’s Inside Shapes Everything Outside

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” – Matthew 12:34
“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7

There’s a reason God spends so much time on the heart.
It’s not just the pumping organ keeping us alive — it's the center of how we see, speak, and live.

Everything flows from there.
And here's the truth: what's happening outside of us is a mirror of what's happening inside.

 1. Nothing Is Created Outside — All Is Created From Within

When we look at our lives — the quality of our relationships, our work, even our connection with God — it’s all being filtered through the lens of the heart and mind. A distorted view inside leads to distortion outside.

If I believe I’m unworthy of love, I’ll attract people who treat me like I’m disposable.
If I see God as harsh or distant, I’ll always feel like I’m praying to someone who is disinterested.
If I carry fear, I will create chaos.
If I carry peace, I will create safety.
Your inner world is the blueprint for your outer experience.

 2. Your View Shapes Your Reality

Your view of yourself, your world, and your God becomes the foundation of your decisions, behaviors, and responses.

You cannot live beyond the picture in your mind.

If your image of God is that He’s always testing you, you’ll live guarded, constantly waiting for the next "lesson."
But if your image of God is as a Father who adores you, you’ll live open, free, and trusting.

And that view? It impacts your emotions, your choices, and even your destiny.

3. Could the Brokenness in the World Be a Reflection of Leadership's Inner State?

Look at the state of the world today.
Corruption. Injustice. Chaos.
What if the world is echoing the inner wounds of its leaders?

When a leader is operating from insecurity, ego, or a scarcity mindset, their decisions follow suit.
They create policies that control, restrict, and oppress — because that’s what their heart is doing to them.

What’s in the heart spills into systems.

So we don’t just need new policies.
We need healed leaders.
Leaders with renewed minds and whole hearts. Leaders who’ve seen God rightly — and in turn, see others rightly.

4. Can a Broken Person Be in a Relationship?

Yes — and they often are.

But here's the catch: when you are broken and unaware, that brokenness becomes the blueprint for how you give and receive love. You might:

Push away healthy love because you don’t believe you deserve it.

Stay in toxic dynamics because pain feels familiar.

Expect your partner to “fix” what only God can heal.

You can be in a relationship and still live in isolation.
You can be married and still never be truly seen or known.

But when healing begins, so does transformation — not just in your heart, but in your whole relational ecosystem.

💡 5. So What Do We Do?

We go inward with God.

We ask Him to search our hearts (Psalm 139:23-24).
We renew our minds with His Word (Romans 12:2).
We ask for truth to uproot every lie we've believed about Him, ourselves, and others.

Because once the view is healed, the life will follow.

Final Thoughts:

What you think matters.
What you carry in your heart matters.
Because you cannot produce a life beyond what you believe you deserve.

So ask yourself today:

Is the life I’m living a reflection of love, truth, and clarity — or fear, distortion, and self-protection?"

And if the answer reveals pain or confusion — that’s okay.
That’s the place where God loves to start from. 💗
