 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” — Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)

Every day, with every word, you are either speaking life or death over yourself, your family, your future, and your destiny. Words are not empty — they are seeds. And sooner or later, we all eat the fruit of what we’ve been saying.

Are You Living in the Harvest of Your Words?

Some struggles people face today are not just because of circumstances, generational curses, or the attacks of life — but because of the words they’ve consistently spoken.

Words like:

“Nothing ever works out for me.”

“I always fail.”

“I’m cursed.”

“Good things never happen to me.”

Many are unknowingly living under self-imposed curses — living in battles they spoke into existence, walking through storms powered by their own confessions.

God Gives Us the Power to Choose

In Deuteronomy 30:19, God makes a life-changing statement:

 “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” (NIV)

This scripture shows clearly — your words, choices, and confessions matter. God has already blessed humanity from creation.

In Genesis 1:28, after creating man and woman, “God blessed them.” That means God's original plan for your life was blessing, fruitfulness, and dominion.

But how do curses enter? Most often — through agreement with wrong words, negative confessions, fear, bitterness, doubt, and careless speech.

Nothing Can Curse What God Has Blessed — Unless You Give It Permission

Remember Balaam in Numbers 23:8? He said:

 “How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced?”

This shows a powerful principle — nothing can curse what God has blessed unless that person opens a door through their words or choices.

Sometimes it's not the enemy attacking — it's the words being spoken over your own life daily.

Your Words Set the Atmosphere of Your Life

Proverbs 18:21 is a spiritual law — what you keep saying, you start seeing.

Speak defeat? You'll live defeated.

Speak lack? You'll attract lack.

Speak life, blessings, favor, and victory? You'll see it manifest.

Jesus said in Matthew 12:37:

 “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Words are spiritual transactions. Heaven listens. Hell listens. Your future listens.

Today is a Call to Repent and Start Speaking Life

Maybe you’ve realized, “I’ve been speaking death over myself without knowing.” The good news is — God’s mercy is new every morning.

Repent for every word of death, defeat, and cursing you’ve spoken over your life or others.

Then boldly begin to declare life, blessing, and victory. The same mouth that tore down can now build up!

1. Speak what God says about you — not what fear says.

2. Declare scripture over your life (personalize it).

3. Refuse to curse yourself with negative words.

4. Cancel every word curse spoken knowingly or unknowingly.

5. Bless your life, your work, your family, and your future daily.

Prayer of Repentance & Declaration:

Heavenly Father, I repent for every careless word of death, defeat, and negativity I have spoken over my life, family, or future. I cancel every word curse right now by the blood of Jesus. I choose life. I choose blessing. I declare I am blessed, favored, protected, and empowered to prosper. My mouth will speak life. My words will align with heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
